What StatOSS can monitor
Eight kinds of check, all on the same status page with the same rules: two confirmed failures in a row make an outage, one success ends it, and every failed check is drawn where visitors can see it.
- Website uptime monitoring
- Requests a URL every minute, expects a 2xx or the status you name, and shows each failure on the page.
- API monitoring
- Any method, headers and a body, an expected status, and text the response must contain.
- SSL certificate monitoring
- Handshakes hourly and fails when the certificate is invalid or expires within your warning window.
- Domain expiry monitoring
- Reads the expiry date from the registry through RDAP and warns inside the window you set.
- Cron job monitoring
- A heartbeat URL your job pings at the end of each run; a missing ping is an outage.
- TCP port monitoring
- Opens a connection to a host and port and records the time it took.
- DNS monitoring
- Asks for one record type and can require the answer to contain a value.
- Ping monitoring
- One ICMP echo, the round trip on the strip.
